One Tired Girl

02/28/11- Day 35 "One Tired Girl"

Yes I was beyond tired. I was exhausted.. Today I was scheduled to work a courtesy clerk shift from 12-9pm. Not what I normally do. Collected carts from 1-2:30pm and had sweeps of the entire store at 1pm, 7pm, and 8pm. Needless to say when I got my 10 minute break around 7pm I was very tired. So tired I could have fallen asleep right then and there. This is a picture of that. Also this was my first attempt of trying to use Photoshop Elements 2.0 that I had just received today..

Me! Yes I was given this Oscar for Best Graduate almost 4 1/2 years ago. I was given to this by a wonderful friend a Mr. Gary Raymond from Australia. I miss him so much. I can't believe it's been that long since I recieved it and now it's even harder to realize that I'll be graduating again not from highschool as I was when I got this but graduating with my BA in Child and Adolescent Development. May 24th is so close....

I got the idea of taking a photo of this award that I recieved since it was the Academy Awards this evening earlier and everyone there was recieving awards too. But my award is the best one of them all because it was given to me by a friend. :-)

I got to go with Amanda and Mom to bowling league. After playing a few games myself which I got my highest score to date a 128, I then was able to watch Amanda play a few frames before we had to leave. Way to Go Amanda!!!

Yes a couple of big words. It is a specific theory in a Family Theory class I'm taking. I like what it says at the bottom of the page. Look at the Benchmark Family. Kind of curious to find out why it's called that. :)

"The benchmark family refers to the traditional intact nuclear family of a husband, wife, and their children, with the husband as breadwinner and the wife as homemaker."

This was taken in my break room at work. Each locker is someones at the store. Each lock is different just like each person and our experiences and adventures working at the store is different. When all is said and done we will all have our own stories to share both good and bad. Though sometimes... we might decide not to share the bad. We'll lock it up inside of ourselves just like we decide to lock things up in these lockers while we are working. I wonder if that hat had been alive what sort of things he or she might have seen happen. I bet that hat or the person that the hat belongs to does have some interesting stories....

Today I taught Sunday School. I only had one little boy, Danny, in my class. We learned about how the Bible says we should share and be fair. Danny and I decided to draw pictures of sharing. One of the stories I read was how a boy shared his blocks with a friend. This is Danny's picture of two boys sharing blocks. :-) I love Danny's cute smile. He lights up my face whenever he comes to Sunday school. I always look forward to seeing him. :)

I met a friendly little probably baby lizard on the way to walking the 1 mile hill and he stood so still for me that I was able to get on my hands and knees without scaring it away and was able to get a picture of it. :-) Here are just a couple more pictures of the little lizard.

A Most Beloved Teddy Bear

02/11/10- Day 18 "A Most Beloved Teddy Bear"

After I got home from work at CHLA today it was nice to see my friend waiting for me on my freshly made bed that I had done just earlier this morning.

This is no ordinary teddy bear. He has a story behind him. :)

Well about 7 1/2 years ago, I got sick with pneumonia and had to stay in the hospital for a few days.. My youth pastor at the time came with his wife and some of the youth group and they gave that bear to me to help me feel better. That bear has been with me ever since. He's been cried on, and slept with me ever since. :-)

Autism

The puzzle piece represents the ambiguity and mystery around the causes and understanding of Autism.

Stop looking at children with Autism differently than you would any other human being!!! They need acceptance, love, encouragement, discipline and help as they go through their daily struggles.

Lets support the families as they go through this.

Maybe one day we can find out a cure for Autism. :-)

I took a walk today to finally start exercising like I should be and decided to bring my camera along. I decided to climb a big hill to the top of the street. A hill I don't normally do when I do decide walk because it's a steep hill and you definitely get your exercise when walking up it. It's about a 1/2 mile to the top of the hill. Well I saw these beautiful small purple flowers on my way back down the hill and got down on my knees and used my macro feature to get a photo of it. :)

Anthony Reads A Gospel Tract

Tracts are a wonderful way to spread the law and the gospel to a lost world. Dad, Steven and I went to NoHo to do some evangelism. This young man Anthony got a gospel tract from my dad. He didn't want to have a conversation but at least we got the gospel message into his hands. :)

I wonder how many public schools still have the Pledge of Allegiance. "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." Probably not many because they don't want to say under God. How sad and lost is the United States today. We need to be praying more for the kids who are in the public school system being taught about evolution. This flag was flying on the top of CSUN's Oviatt Library.

So I had gone all day without taking a photo. Just about to leave Albertsons and wondering when I was going to find something when as I looked to my left I found this tree. The way the light hit it just right made it look like one creepy looking tree that you would find in a haunted forest. You know the first thing it reminded me of was the Wicked Witch's forest from the Wizard of Oz. ha ha ha

Today I get to brag about my sister Amanda. She is in the junior league for bowling. She loves to bowl. Bowling every week since forever! She and her friend Megan got first place this year. Today was the day to get their trophies. She was so excited when she heard that they got first place!!!
